What is clear, some rigid plastics material to use for my Halloween costume?

My idea of dressing room is a lava lamp. I use some kind of transparent plastic material for what would be the glass of a lava lamp. There has to be very strong, but should hold its shape. What can I use for this material and where he could find it? I was considering a clear acetate film, but I'm not sure where to find it. Any suggstions would be greatly appreciated.

Go to a fabric store and you can get clear plastic tablecloth kind of thing should be relatively cheap.
