It's a tough question! I will try to reduce to basics. . . Firstly, the UPC code of a product is a 11-digit number followed by a check digit calculated mathematically. (If you're curious to know how the calculation is done, please visit our http://www.upccode.net/upc_check.html double verification two digits) The coupon code for a given product can take several forms. The simplest is that of a 12-digit code on the front, which consists of: – UPC 5 prefix indicating it is a coupon – followed by 2 to 6 the number of UPC product that goes a coupon, – followed a 3 – Showing the family gathered by the manufacturer or the company he been – Followed by a 2-digit code on the value coupon value table code indicating the% discount or coupon of $ or any other value – followed by coupons new figures calculated mathematically more then a code Bars second, called Extended promo code. This code of long duration can take many forms. The simplest includes the application identifier (8100) over a block of code 5 numbers selected by the manufacturer. This code is designed to allow the manufacturer to keep track of each bid discount. There are extended versions of code to add an expiration date and the addition of household ID.
